Ea Academy alls The Academy Balls are an important part of the cadet's social education. They represent a tradition almost lost in today's world. The popularity of the Academy Balls has grown steadily with the young ladies of Harlingen and surrounding areas. Throughout the course of the year there are two formal military balls, the first being the Marine Corps Birthbay Ball falling in the middle of the first semester. The second formal is the Spring Ball sche. duled about the middle of the second semester.
