Heat came to many classrooms this year at M.C.H.S. The Custodians fixed the heaters so that each room was warm and comfortable. Also, the students would have died of thirst if it wasn’t for the custodians who filled the pop and juice machines. M.C.H.S. would also be condemned for excessive paper in the halls if the custodians didn’t pick up after us. Title 9 required all high schools to have co-ed gym classes and M.C. was no exception. Mr. Warkentien and Miss Lownsbury restructured our Physical education program to accommodate the new regulations. More emphasis has been put into athletic pursuits that can be used beyond the high school years. Sewing, cooking, family living, and interior decorating are some of the Home Ec. classes offered at M.C.H.S. Miss Radtke teaches these classes, so that they can be fun and exciting. M.C.H.S. 29

ACTIVITIES Activities at MCHS play an important role in the lives of the students. They are the illusions which give them the opportunity to face the future without distortion. There is a part for everyone from pep assemblies and cheerleaders, to ski trips and long underwear. Dances are very special activities. A student may go stag or with that particular person of the opposite sex. The dances give students the chance to show off their fancy footwork and free style moves. Students as well as teachers can participate in the endless amount of activities at MCHS. Putting forth the power needed to sustain activities is what our school is all about. 30 Activities
