Students interested in business careers are very fortunate at M.C.HS. because there are many courses to give the background they need for the business world. A good start would be Typing I with Mr. Ellery Horning. Mrs. Florence Joachim can get the students closer to their business goals with Shorthand and Business English. After all the basics have been completed, Mrs. Joyce Warner teaches the students to apply their skills in Simulated Clerical Office which deals with everyday office procedures. Then after all the basic training, Miss Sondra Cawrse can arrange “real’ jobs for the students through the Co-op program. Math at M.C.H.S. means Mrs. Penelope Burmann and Mr. Gene Gunderson. Anything from Practical Math, all the way up to Trigonometry is available for students who have interests in numbers, formulas and equasions.

At M.C.H.S. there is a large variety of courses that help students to decide what career they would like to pursue. If students choose to go into the Industrial World, Mr. Flemming’s Drawing Classes show them how to design and plan cities of modern buildings. After the plans are made, they will need some tools and laborers to finish the job. Mr. Rice’s wood shop and Mr. DuBois metal shop trains those who are interested in that type of job. The Fine Arts classes M.C.H.S. offers, call for a different kind of skill than the Industrial World. All the courses need more practice and patience because masterpieces don ' t come easily. In Mrs. Clawsen’s classes, budding artists work with paints and clay plus some wood carving. In High School Band, Miss Bastian’s students are involved in activities such as marching, performing concerts, entertaining at pep rallies, and playing in parades. Rounding out the Fine Arts are Ms. Tual’s Spanish classes which give students a chance to widen their vocabulary and even put it to practical use by taking a trip to Spain!
