We, the staff of the 1970 Mariner, dedicate this yearbook to Miss Jean Bastian. Thank you. Miss Bastian for all the great half-time shows and pep bands. We also thank you for en- during sour notes and long cold hours of marching on the football field. We must not forget the sweet voices of the chorus and the strong shouts of the cheerleaders. We are forever grateful for your enthusiasm, great interest and dedication to the students of Marine City - Ward Cottrell High School. As evidenced by the above picture many people at M.C.H.S. have tried to make this year one full of spirit and enthusiasm. At this time I would like to personally thank the yearbook staff, plus Mr. Archer, Miss Lownsbury, Mrs. Herzier, and Mr. Cavis. To these hard working people I am especially grateful. Without their time and help there would not have been a 1970 Mariner. Many people will like the book and some won ' t. However, this is the most accurate account of the past school year we could compile. I feel it is an honest look at Marine City High School in 1970. I hope you enjoy it. Sincerely, Editor 144
