The Student Council has been organized differently this year. Instead of having representatives from the various clubs, the representatives were elected from A-hour classes. Homecoming, the bonfire, the Christmas tree, and ushers at the basketball games are just a few of the activities sponsored by the Student Council. Miss Kudron and Mr. Cotton are the advisors. The Christmas tree. Ushers goof around. 57 Homecoming 1964 The week of October 30 proved to be a hectic week. We started with the crowning of our Queen and Court on Tuesday afternoon. A bonfire was held on Wednesday evening. The Mariner Band performed dur- ing halftime; and last year’s queen, Jackie Bellow, crowned Cindy Beckett, Queen of 1964-65. The Court consisted of Sandy Franklin and Mary Castleman representing the Senior class; Jean Dea- ton and Kathy Schilling representing the Junior class; Pam Nichols representing the Sophomore class; and Susan David- son representing the Freshman class. 59 Tone Seniors Presented... A variety of speakers have talked at meetings, and the club members have taken a field trip to the Univer- sity of Michigan. 75 Art CluS The Art Club consists of twenty mem- bers. They meet on Fridays during X Hour when A clubs are allowed to meet. The Club sponsored a bake sale one night after school was over. The pro- ceeds are going into a fund which is being used in case a person wins the scholarship to Interlochen from our school. Mrs. Gunderson is the sponsor and has helped all kids in the field of art. Camera CluS Camera Club is one of the more active activities. Because Mr. Teichow, their sponsor, who gives his time without pay can come only at night, the clubs meets on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The club takes pictures of school activities and sometimes sells them in order to pay for their supplies. 76 Stage Crew This is one of the hardest working, but least recognized, clubs in school. This group has the responsibility for lighting the stage, handling the loud speaker for assemblies, and playing records at dances. The group is sponsored by Mr. Reed. Cdess Club Members of the Chess Club meet during X hour tn Room 15 to learn to play chess correctly. Mr. Plummer is the sponsor of this club. 77 Model CluS The Model Club is a new club this year. It meets for both A and B parts of X Hour. The main idea behind the club is for students to get together to make models of different things. This club is sponsored by Mr. Flemming. 78 Physical education CluS The Science Club, sponsored by Mr. Newcombe, has twelve members. The club keeps the aquarium and the greenhouse clean.
