Art Mr. Werden Students interested in art have several opportunities to take it. Art I is for beginning students, Art II is for intermediate students, and Art III is for advanced students. They work with the potter ' s wheel and the jig saw. They use a textbook for art appreciation. The classes make abstract designs, posters, wood objects, cartoons, pottery, plastics, copper jewelry, still lifes, and leather objects. They made the stained glass windows that decorated the cafeteria at Christmas. The art classes are taught by Mr. Werden. Students at work Modern Home Maker 17

Miss Kimmet The girls’ gym classes are open to all girls with gym required for ninth and tenth grades. The girls play soccer, basketball, volley ball, badminton, and softball. They also participate in stunts and tumbling, trampoline, ice skating, and track and field. They also have a fitness test and do exercises. The gym classes are taught by Miss Kimmet. Mr. Wiinikainen The boys’ gym classes are taught by Mr. Wiinikainen and Mr. Davidson. They work out on the parallel and chinning bars. They also play football, basketball, baseball, and par- ticipate in track. Use of the trampoline, stunts, tumbling, and exercises are all a part of their physical fitness program. 16
