Shop Freshman shop is taught by Mr. Connors, Mr. Flemming and Mr. Bartow. Mr. Connors teaches General Metals, Wood- working I and II and Power Mechanics. General Metals studies different kinds and construction of metals. Woodworking I and II are concerned most with the woodworking machines. Power Mechanics is concerned with gasoline engines. Mechanical Drawing is similar to drafting. Hard worker? Listening to a lecture. Industrious workers. Think it will float? 15

Homemaking Homemaking classes are carried thru high school until the third year. The girls in these classes learn how to cook, sew, and become better all around homemakers. Miss Cooper F Hour class doesn’t look too busy, does it? A typical homemaker, working at the stove. 14

Miss Kimmet The girls’ gym classes are open to all girls with gym required for ninth and tenth grades. The girls play soccer, basketball, volley ball, badminton, and softball. They also participate in stunts and tumbling, trampoline, ice skating, and track and field. They also have a fitness test and do exercises. The gym classes are taught by Miss Kimmet. Mr. Wiinikainen The boys’ gym classes are taught by Mr. Wiinikainen and Mr. Davidson. They work out on the parallel and chinning bars. They also play football, basketball, baseball, and par- ticipate in track. Use of the trampoline, stunts, tumbling, and exercises are all a part of their physical fitness program. 16
