Commercial Commercial classes include book- keeping, Shorthand I and II, Typing I and II and junior business and Business English. Mrs. Joachim, Miss Cawrse, and Mr. Horning are the devoted teachers. Today’s News . . . Social Studies Social Studies classes are government, U. S. history, world history, and civics. The classes are taught by Mr. Davidson, Mr. Schankin, and Mr. Chamberlain. Government, which is required of all Seniors, is a study of American govern- ment on the national and local levels. U. S. history, required of all Juniors, is the history of our country from colonial to modern times. World history is the history of the world since its beginning. Civics is a general government course. Who was King Tut? Where are the jokes? Interesting?? 12

Homemaking Homemaking classes are carried thru high school until the third year. The girls in these classes learn how to cook, sew, and become better all around homemakers. Miss Cooper F Hour class doesn’t look too busy, does it? A typical homemaker, working at the stove. 14
