This evening is our brief moment to follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before. This time honored act is our opportunity to show our gratitude for the interest afforded us by our families, friends 3nd testciners • Now in planning for the life that lies ahead, we hope our future endeavors will be regarded with equal interest. The development of satellites and eventually space travel is opening vast, unknown, and entirely new ways of living and working. Not only must we be prepared not only to specialize more and more in our ever-changing world, but ilso we must face these changes and still keep our beliefs in the basic eights of the individual. The wisdom of our teachers and parents has been imparted to us generously and willingly. It is now our job, our unalterable duty to them and ourselves, to use this wisdom to the best of our ability in making our place in today ' s world and in the great democracy we have inherited as a birthright. It has been an honor to serve our class as its president, and in trying to fulfill the duties of this office, I have found two characteristics of my classmates which have been very helpful to me. These characteristics, loyalty and perseverance, have left an unforgettable impression on us, and in the future we will remember them as the finest qualities our class was privileged to have. Through the members of this class these attributes will continue to be disseminated into many other organizations and locations. We hope they will reach out into our families in the future as they have into our present families. Thank you, mothers, dads, and friends for the loving care we have received. Ladies and gentlemen, we welcome you, and we salute you ' . Robert M. Korbelak M. C. H. S. CONSTITUTION PREAMBLE We, the Seniors of Marine City High School, to form a more perfect student body. If this Is possible, to establish justice, to promote the general welfare (mostly for us, tho), and to secure the blessing of our beloved Principal to our posterity, do form and establish this history and constitution of the high-thinking Class of 1958. EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT First term — Freshmen The executive power was vested in Fred Reynolds as president and Delores Dacko as vice president. The Kitchen Cabinet consisted of Judy Stark, secretary; Susan Danneels, treasurer — she was later convicted of larceny — ;Nancy Ellis, court Jester. Second term — Sophomores The executive power was filled by Delores Dacko as president and Marcia Allard as vice president. Gayle Dragmiller was secretary and Janice Kazor was treasurer. Court jester was John Relchle. Third terra — Juniors The sovereign power this term was given to Robert M. Korbelak and Marcia Allard. The Hall Cabinet consisted of Gayle Dragmiller, secretary, and Phyllis Gaudette, treasurer. Fourth term — Seniors The officers for this year were so insignificant and absolutely worthless that we couldn’t remember their names — sorry. LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT First term Bob Korbelak was in the Student Council; Ken Mikolowski also represented — that ' s a joke — the dishonorable class in the National Convention in Room 7 Second term Ken Mikolowski having corrupted the Council, he stole back for another term along with Mary Jane Smith as accomplice. Third terra The same pair of grafters, Ken Mikolowski and Mary Jane Smith, were back for another try; this time Ken was after a pink and blue helicopter and Mary Jane Smith was after a box of Havana cigars with the Mink Filters. Fourth term Little Joey Borneman and Sue Danneels finally cleaned house and forced themselves In for the last year. Note: The dictators for the first three terms were Miss Radtke and her worthy assistant, Mr. Connors. To put the finishing touches on the four worst years of our lives, Mr. Trudell and his worthy helper Mrs. Fullwood took over the bull whip. NATIONAL DEBTS First term To pay off our National Debt to Society, we were forced to give a Freshman dance after the Holy Cross-Marine City football game. It was called the ‘ ' Witches Brew. ' 1 The only thing brewed was ill feelings. Second term The next try to pay off our debt that was not a flop was Rock around the Clock.” Not too many hoods rocked over, but we still made a small fortune, exactly twenty cents. The second class meeting of the year was a riot. A great battle was fought over class dues. After much bloodshed and many heads rolling, we came to a settlement of two dollars a year, which no one paid. Third term Since we were dizzy anyway, we took a merry-go-round theme for our J-Hop, Carousel.” We had Ray Hendricks and his cats for the music. Fourth term To start the year off, Mr. Trudell and Mrs. Fullwood called a meeting at which we were told, Shell out $66.95 for the Senior trip or swim. So we all went out and bought bathing suits. Next we had a hilarious meeting at which we decided that our colors would be pink and gray. Our flower was to be a wonderful pink rose. Just one — we would each get a petal. There- fore, the Juniors are just a bunch of petal pushers. The witty class motto is What you can’t buy, steal — oops, I mean, We have crossed the bay; the ocean lies before us. Please pass my water wings. The Senior play, Headin’ for a Weddin , was a success, especially with star performer Gloria, our skunk. It was enjoyed by everyone who didn’t see it. About the Prom, we did have one. Your should have gone. We didn’t. We stayed home and watched that great TV show Have Books, Won’t Work. The boat trip was fully enjoyed by all, until somebody thought the boat was a bathtub and pulled the plug. The seaweed is tasty this time of year — please pass the salt. Lynda Fielding Robert Quick Marilyn Jones Philip MacDonald ciRss pom As Freshman we were eager To begin our High School years. There were so many things to learn To help with our careers. Our Sophomore year was difficult; Our Junior year was, too; But with our teachers ' kind assistance We managed to come through. Now that we are Seniors And our high school days are done. We look back on the friends we made And the diplomas we have won. The time has come when we must part; We say Goodbye to all. We hope you won ' t forget us When you ' re back to school next fall.
