The Letterrnen Club consists of those boys who have earned blocks by partici- pating in varsity sports. This organiza- tion has one of the largest memberships in the school and is by far one of the most active. The lettermen keep order at all student assemblies and rallies, give an annual dance, and collect the admission price at all home games. After suffer ing defeats in the first four games, the J, V, 's overcame their next three opponents, Tamalpais, Tomales, and St. Vincent's of San Rafael. Offensivelyanddefensively,the team, as a whole, improved progressively throughout the season. The number of de- feats was not due to a lack of spirit or ability, but to a more ex erienced and ower P P ' ful opposition. In a post-season election, the team selected Steve Elder and Robert Lewis as co-captains. J, V. The climax of their season was M. C. 's first football win over Drake. Spirit, hustle, and teamwork marked their every game. They not only won ll out of l3 games, but also took the unof- ficial Marin County championship by defeating all local opponents. The C's didn't fare as well, winning only 3 out of 10 games. However, those 3 wins were over Drake, San Rafael and Tarn, Furthermore, the C's were beaten by Santa Rosa, fig the N, B, L. Champs, by only 2 pts., the game ending at 38-36 after a triple overtime. This was the best season experienced by Fr. Dullea since becoming coach of these two fine teams. This record, however, does not tell the whole story, as 8 of the 14 losses were by 4 pts. or less. GEORGE VAIO Sparked by Finocchio's deadly eye and ball control and Arbini's terrific shooting, we rolled over such opponents as Se r r a, St. Joseph's, St. Vincent's of Vallejo, and San Rafael. We also split with such County rivals as Drake and Tam. Those who looked good among the lower classmen were Juniors Bud Chaix and Torn McNamara and Sophomore Phil Croldbeck. Although this year's team looked height, it made up for in it spirit and hustle.
