SENIOR UI I lt,'l'IllS .lc-tl' Hergcii 1'I'1SI1llll, Vai-ol .lf-an Smith ,Nlflf fill!!-7.11IIslll'l I El 'I' eniafz Our class has been very much like other classes that have gone before us: we started as humble seventh graders, and we are ending as proud seniors. Our first year was not particularly eventful because we were rather young and didn't know quite what to expect, so we just sat back and looked on. In the eighth g1'ade, the year Marietta won the C.O.L. championship in football, we started to branch out a little. Our talents began to be recognized in band, Y-Teens, Ili-Y, and in athletics. Our freshman year was better still. We won a prize for our homecoming float, the lirst of the many honors that have fallen to our class and its members. We all enjoyed our annual picnic at the close of the school year. As sophomores we really started to click. The iioat with the stork and the slogan We're expecting a victory was a real accomplish- ment. We put on a wonderful basketball homecoming, complete with parade, queen, and dance. This was also the year that many of the male members of our class began to realize that there was something to be said for the fairer sex. QI 'ng' Qfckztafzg Last year we were juniors and assumed our position as upperclassmen. Our contribution to the homecoming was a majestic steamboat with billows of smoke pouring from the smoke stacks. This float received second prize. As we started our junior year, we had only twelve dollars in our treasury and a three hundred dollar .lzmior Prom ahead of us. But with many money making projects we staged in the spring the linest prom ever seen in the history of M.ll.S. As a theme we used Evening in Paris. This year we are seniors! We have had an eventful year, featured by our train to the Zanesville football game, our box social in March, and linally our big week. Senior Week started May 233 with our last annual picnic. Then came May 25 and Bacculaureate followed by the Senior Dinner Dance, May 26. And finally came the big night. On May 28, the Class of 1958 was graduated, and the year was climaxed with our final party after graduation. Next year our class will literally be scattered to the four winds. We shall have only mem- ories of hard work, fun, our classmates, and all the wonderful things we did together.
