N M E M O R I A M In loving tribute to the memory of Albert Fergu- son Brawner, Jr., who passed away on November 26, 1939, as the result of injuries received on the Marietta High School gridiron. His courage, his sportsmanship, his valor that made him a sterling competitor on the football field typifies the very spirit of MHS, and will cause him to be remem- bered ever by the entire student body. the J-%zihmsn bewildered Here come the Freshmen, and how they change throughout their first year of high school ! At first they wander about the halls in bewilderment. They stick their heads in all the wrong classrooms at the wrong times, and huddle continually among them- selves. Then they soon begin to realize they too are a part of the school itself and their genuine enthusiasm fore one knows it, those supposedly timid freshmen are in the thick of everything. Congratulations to you Freshmen for your much needed pep and en- thusiasm. You set an example for all to follow. Your school spirit has been an inspiration. Your coopera- tion has been appreciated by facul- ty and student body alike. It ' s a is a marvelous thing to behold. Lost is their awe of the glorified upper- classmen and they make little niches of their own in the activities of M. H. S.
