I'll bet it makes it nice and cool. Makes it plenty wet, too, every Spring. The trees are the pride and joy of the town's citizens. Notice how they tend to soften the lines of the city. Guess they give plenty of shade-ought to be a good place for the squirrels. I don't see much life in the town, it must be small. Seems to me I read, somewhere, that it had a population of eighteen tlionsandfl H Thatls a nice sized community. lt's a very old town isn't it? ! Well, it was founded in 1788, by a band oil? Revolutionary soldiers. l understand that it was the 'first settlement in the Northwest Territory. The historical background of the city would make interesting reading. Say, loolt at the time! . , - ,af kr... . r I NEYYSHQMQQ WALL WEB Where did he tell us the college was ? Well, we're on Putnam Street now. He said to follow it till we hit Fourth Street. We can see the college from there. By the way, did you notice how pleasant he was? You just can't beat a town like this for friendliness. This town sure has a lot of stores. Have you been noticing all the people in them? I bet this place really jumps on a Saturday night. I'll bet it does, too! I wonder what they do for amusement ? Well, I saw a few movies back there, and that hotel has a bar sign. H-m-m-m-m, that's a beginning. Clean little place isn't it? Look how the trees form an arch over the streets. One would think he was in New England from the style of houses and the gen- eral atmosphere of quiet dignity that surrounds them. The Founders would probably give you a job with their Chamber of Commerce, Bill. It was their intention, and the attempt of the inhabitants, to retain the char- acteristics of a New England college town. Well, it certainly is pleasant. I think I could learn to like it here. Me too. Look over to your right, there's the college!
