ROW 2: Chris Moreno, John Heeder, Galen Reese, Robert Muraira, Joe Mavis Jr., Bob Manley, Steven Snow, Hiram Thomas, Calvin Irwin. ROW 3: Vernon Loveall, Managerg Leo Lewis, Winston Moore, Joe Mitchell, Roger Quintanilla, Dwayne Justin, Joe Benitez, Jeff Bentley. ROW 4: Tom Merrill, Reed Stradling William Antone, Lynn Anderson, Bill Doran, Tom Donithan Bret Honeycutt, Daniel Antone. ROW 5: Robert Heeder, Asst Coach, Norbert Peters, Bobby Templeton, Troy Anderson Lester Vincent, Billy Tow, Don Reese, Head Coach. Preseason talk was mostly the same. The varsity football team at Maricopa High figured to be a power in the Class C ranks this season, so stated the Casa Grande Dispatch before our opening game against Seligman-. Marks of 4-0 conference and 6-2 regular closed the season for the Rams and took us to the playoffs against Valley Union. We kept our heads up and always strove for victory. Effort and determination were demanding on everyone's part and ALL the Rams met the requirements. Team captains were Bobby Templeton, Norbert Peters, and Troy Anderson. Billy Tow and Troy Anderson, two star players, were hurt and unable to play for the last four games. Struggle as the team did without them, Billy and Troy cheered them on. Bobby Templeton was named All-Conference Class C South Division Squad Defensive Captain. He made the team's first unit on offense and defense. Norbert Peters was named for the first unit as Defensive Safety. Tom Donithan was named on the second team for offense and defense as Center and End. Daniel Antone was on the second team as a Defensive Guard, and William Antone made second team as an Offensive Guard. Bret Honeycutt was an honorable mention pick as Defensive Halfback. Norbert Peters, Defensive Back, and Bobby Templeton, Offensive Back, were selected for the Arizona Republic Class C All-State Team. Tom Donithan was chosen for the South Team for Arizona High School All-Star Game which will be played the third week in June, 1976. The Rams finished as South Division West League Champions, losing the division playoffs to Valley Union, 48-28. We had one great season and with the help of Coach Reese, we'l1 be ready next year in Class B ranks. Sponsored by Mr. 8x Mrs. Don Reese

This is our BIG chance guys! And the Rams put one more through the hoop. The team has done well thanks to the great coaching of David Thompson and Don Reese. The Rams worked hard to have a great season and they achieved this goal with no trouble. It is impossible to have a winning season if you don't set certain goals for the team. The main goal the Rams set for themselves was to prepare themselves physically and mentally for the C-South Tournament at the end of the regular season. Maricopa may have been small in number with ten members on the team but big in size. All of the starting five on the squad Were taller than 5'10 . Size is what you need in Basketball and Maricopa had plenty of it. Rich Chance led in tallness with a heighth of 6'3 . So as you see Maricopa was no team to push around. f Curse you Red Baron. . .
