LETTERME ' TRY H RDER Initiation - a word feared by some and enjoyed by others. To the new members of the Lettermen's Club it means an hour and a half of some of the most gruesome, and painful torture anyone could imagine. To the present members of the club it represents a night of getting revenge and taking out frustration. Eventually it all ends well. You can expect the initiated members back in the swing of things, after a week or so of getting over the blood blisters and bruises which are a consequence of the event. Also, you can expect the new members to be ready to take part in the next year's initiation. The Lettermen's Club does more than bring in new members. For instance, the group takes part in many money raising activities such as the Christmas Tournament which almost left the club penniless. The Lettermen's Club did some different things recently by selling ski caps and sponsoring an entertaining event called Donkey President Troy calls roll Jeff Bentley, Here, Robert Muraira, basketball. Both Were big I1'1OI'1ey making Here, Bret Honeycutt, Absentg .. . projects' The Lettermen's Club is designed to show the leaders of the sports areas in this school, and to represent the future athletes of America. During its first year of existence the Auto Club is making money by doing automotive Work on the cars of Maricopa residents. Also, in order to learn more about working on vehicles, the Auto Clubgwent to the Ford Proving Grounds to observe how new car designs are tested and how the new engines stand up to the strenuous tests.
