Nights like a river, beginning to flow Ifelt the beat of my mind go drifting through Time Passages Yes go falling in the fading light Time Passages Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight. Well, I'm not the kind to live in the past, The years run too short and the days too fast. The things that you lean on, the things that don't last Well, it's just now and then, my line gets cast into these Time Passages There's something back there that you left behind, Oh Time Passages Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight. Hear the echoes and feel yourself starting to turn, Don't know why you should feel that there's something to learn It's just a game that you play. The picture is changing, now you're part of a crowd. They're laughing at something, the music's loud. A girl comes towards you, she wants you to know You reach out your hand, but you're all alone in those Time Passages I know you're in there, you're just out of sight, Oh, Time Passages Buy me a ticket on the last train home tonight. FACULTY ADMINISTRA TION When you open this yearbook, consider your time spent at Marianhill in its entirety. How long ago was it, six months, five years, or ten years ago? What did you re- member about the staff, your classmates and the remain- der of the student body? Who do you see from the class? Look back with an open mind, view your years at Mar- ianhill objectively. They were good years, if it were only two or six years, they were good to you in many ways. Think of your friends and the work that you did for each other. The good times, as well as what you might feel were bad times, were all related to your growing. Each exper- ience helped you to grow, to be a better person. That was our goal, to help you become a good Christian, and provide you with an excellent education. Good luck. The Class of 1983 graduated 10 years ago, from Marianhill Central Catholic High School. We find that Sr. Helen Champagne has rented the Centrum, in Worcester, to house the class reunion. ln an attempt to locate the students in the class of 1983, Sr. Helen enlists the aid of Russell Laporte. Russ is now the acting president of the American Optical Corporation, which has been completely computerized through his efforts. Russ is glad to help and can immediately give Sr. Helen the whereabouts of four students who also work in the computer field. The first is Paul Laconto, who spends his nights tapping into the school computer and his days selling the answers to students in Mr. O'Malleys computer class. Richard Stasior, another close contact of Russ', has spent the last ten years working to create a computerized, automatic pilot to be installed in Mustangs. His research is proceeding well, he has only totalled 49 Mustangs in his at- tempt to complete this task. Monique Betty worked for Russ for a short while after graduation. She is now married, living in scenic Webster with her husband and seven children, where she is also working on a system to computerize housework. John Canty, inventor and chief salesman ofthe new video game Pac Man Meets Pac Woman , tries to sell Russ his video game. While John is in Russ' office Russ tells him about the reunion. The five ofthem set off together to locate the remaining seventeen classmates in order to complete Sr. Helen's mission. While scanning through the NEW YORK TIMES, a feature article caught Russ' attention: Karen Leon, Admiral of the Americal Fleet, is now stationed in Honolulu. Karen, who is eager to help, steers them in the course of another alumni, Denise Stevens, the sole owner of the prestigious accounting firm of D. S. Co., is now living in the prominent Connecticut suburb of Pomfret. Delighted with the news of a reunion, Denise rushes to send a wire to her friend Kellie Higgins then she instantly sets out for Notre Dame Convent. Kellie, an ex-X-Ray technician, now sells used cars from her used car lot, where a banner flying overhead reads Buy From Red and Be Ahead. It was here that she sold Denise a recycled Rolls Royce. She also sold her 49th classic, recycled Mustangs as a Rolls. Contact is made with Kellie and she then joins the others at Notre Dame Convent to discuss the reunion. They decide that they need help in locating the class members, because at the present rate of progress, they will have located everyone about 2 weeks too late. Kellie suggests they ask for the help of Timothy J. Gillespie, now the Governor of Massachusetts since the landslide election in 1992. Sr. Helen vetoes this because she feels that Timothy will be too busy with statewide affairs to bother with a high school class reunion. Kellie forges ahead and takes it upon herself to contact Tim. After several incomplete phone calls, she decides to go to Boston to see him in person. Donning a black mustache and Panama hat, she sneaks into Tim's office, sits down and pro- ceeds to read a newspaper. Tim, surprised at seeing someone wearing a black mustache sitting in his office, faints as he enters the room. When he revives, he quickly agrees to help locate more of the class. Besides he needs a vacation. With the help of the Massachusetts Census File, they quickly locate and contact everyone with the exception of Michele LaFrance, who they can trace to California but no further. 12 Everyone answers the RSVP invitations with very definite yes . It should be a good night with everyone in attendance. The night ofthe reunion is here, and we find Sr. Helen standing anxiously at the main door, awaiting the arrival of her best homeroom, the Class of 183. The first to arrive is Tim Gillespie. As he drives up in his black limousine, he is accompanied by Rhonda Seaman. It appears to be a quiet night for them as they enter, accompanied by Tim's 25 Secret Service Men. Rhonda is now head of the Eastern branch of Secretaries Anonymous - The helping hand to secretaries who want to leave theirjobs at work and return home at 5:00 p.m. Once the crowd has passed, we find the renowned Lisa Maramo, Director ofthe Ricky Ro- bey Convalescent Home for Retired Celtic's Players. Mike Szlyk is the next to enter still wearing his Safari clothes. He tells everyone of his discovery in Egypt. He has found Hieroglyphics which resembles his own handwriting so well that his notes and the photos of his discovery are interchangeable. Larry Mongeau enters dribbling a basketball, thinking he might be able to get a game going, so he can return to the Marianhill girls' basketball practice and be able to tell his girl's he played at the Centrum. Next to enter is Ron Marsden, wearing an orange and black pinstriped suit. His suit, together with his long, curly hair and sunglasses makes him easily recognizable as Frank J. Russo's replacement as promoter of rock concerts in area Civic Centers. Ron accompanied by Melissa Caron. Melissa, dripping in jewels, is now married to an Arab Oil Sheik whom she met on her travels as an Oil Geographer. Gina Cummings, current owner and manager of Fat Alberts, comes in escorted by two young dashing male dancers from her disco. Gina is followed by Tony Marino who has just finished working on a top secret mission for the government, which has made him a millionaire. No one can imagine who would be arriving in the white Cadillac, followed by several black sedans. After the car is surrounded by large men in dark suits, Deirdre Murphy steps out. It is rumored that she is married to the Godfather ofa prominent New England Mafia family. No one has ever been able to find out who, or even ifit is true. As Deirdre enters the Centrum, they hear a low flying plane overhead. Everyone rushes out in time to see a man with a parachute jump from the plane. When he lands, it turns out to be none other than Timothy Caplette, First Lieutenant of the United States Air Force. Suddenly Timis parachute begins to move slowly across the ground. A young woman staggers out from underneath the parachute and collapses. Everyone rushes over to her and realizes it is Holly Brown, wearing one of her own fashion creations from Holly's Designer Collections. Just then an ambulance screeches up to the curb and out jumps Debra Veinot, still in her scrub suit. As she approaches Holly, she says, Sorry I'm late, and she proceeds to examine her. Holly's leg is broken and she has fainted, but with a cast on her leg and some smelling salts, she is ready to attend the reunion. After the commotion is over, the class settles down to watch the entertainment which has been provided through the courtesy of the Worcester Centrum. The emcee announces the newest popular band, the Rock-a-Billies. The band comes out and the spotlight centers on the lead singer. To everyone's amazement, it is their long-lost classmate Michele LaFrance and her Rock-a-Billy Band. The Class of ,83 rushes to the Stage to welcome their classmate.
