Four years ago, September 1978, we came together, the Class of 1982, and a new Headmaster. We had high expectations for the coming school years, greeted new students, new staff and forged a relationship based on a mutual goal: quality education in a christian environment. The years have passed rapidly, we have seen classmates leave and have welcomed new students. Each year presented new challenges. The Class of 1982 met the academic challenge head on, achieved goats established by individual students, as well as the collective goal of graduation. The Class of 1982 witnessed a renewed interest in Marianhiil by citizens of the neighboring communities, and the additional students changed the complexion of the school. There were more younger students entering as the class passed through their four years of attendance, adding a new vitality to the school. The passing of some traditions and the creation of new ones were not always greeted with enthusiasm, but accepted. The change in staff mem- bers was not always a pleasant experience. Relationships once estabw lished were broken and new ones had to be developed. The peaks and valleys we passed through together, the periods of happiness and sadness, the successes and failures, all reflect the world that the Class of 1982 entered, A world that needed individuals dedi- cated to the tenets of your christian faith.
