june, 1977 Dear Girls, Life is a series of endings and beginnings. I suppose this is part of what the inspired author had in mind in the book of Ecclesiastes when he wrote, For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven . For the grade twelves and for me this is a time to say, Good-bye . I have enjoyed my five years at Marian. I shall miss teaching, I shall miss my fellow-teachers as well as Mrs. Bachmann and Mr. and Mrs. Meier, and, above all, I shall miss you students. In the film LUKE WAS THERE Luke says, Working with you kids is like making beautiful music . I hope that some times here at Marian we have made the kind of music he was talking about. I hope too that I have helped some of you per- sonally to discover that you all have some beautiful notes to play, May your lives hold much joy as well as courage for bearing the sorrows which must also come if we are to grow up in Christ.
