lfeligian Religion, our core sub- ject, equips us for our future life in the world. Through religion we grow in age and grace and wisdom before God and man. Pat Nicosia leads a Sophomore religion class. Margie McGuire, Gretchen Gaclbois, George Parrish, Linda Scott, Sam Iacono, and john Cunningham form a panel during Bible class. 14 Freshman religion students study the text, Power, which illustrates the might of God. Loyalty serves to instruct the Sophomore students in their goal of moral righteous- ness. The Iuniors acquire the ability of defend- ing their faith by studying Guidance, which teaches apologetics. The history of our faith is emphasized in the Bible classes, and all students are instructed in the lit- urgy of the Mass. In accordance with the precepts of the Gospel, the students acquire a sound phi- losophv of life which is the motivating principle of their lives.

Collecting pure oxygen proves an interesting experiment for Pat Danna, Paul Cai- dousek, Francis Lowe, Andrew Tarkington, and Mike Alderman. The Sciences prepare a student in- tellectually for his chosen profession and also for life itself. The home economics department realizes that on the home is built the nationf' and prepares the student for Christian family living through courses in food and clothing. 16 viruses The main function of the Science courses is to fomi a basic foundation for a broad and liberal education. Scientific and social studies are aimed at helping the student to develop his self expression and to become a re- sponsible and intelligent citizen of our American democracy.
