Both A and B teams held their own against many experienced opponents, with the B team finishing second in their league. Late in the season the girls participated in the Catholic Girls' Ath- letic Association Tournament at Galveston's Dominican I High. This was the initial meeting of the Association formed by Father I. B. jones of New Waverly, Texas. The team carried off the Consolation award, earning for Marian her first volleyball trophy. ' The Girls' managers, Lena Cash and Maureen Quinn, confer with Sister Mary Benedict as she plans the line up for the coming game.
