counselling and discussion groups lead to greater understanding of religion and world-wide problems. friendship is the theme of the first-year course in which freshmen learn that to live in genuine friendship with themselves and their fellow beings leads them to friendship with God. each class receives an opportunity to participate in a special prayer week which includes a penance service and a eucharistic celebration. as part of their study of the church sophomores receive questionnaires to interview adult catholicsg they share the results in class in an attempt to understand what the church means to both the ordinary and the very committed catholics, as well as to non-catholics. juniors concentrate on morality. to give them an opportunity to discuss questions which they think are important, the priests have organized discussion groups during fourth, fifth, and sixth periods. seniors choose from among sociology, psychology, future of man, christian manhood, and christian womanhood to fulfill their religion credits. as part of the latter course father hack gives a week-long marriage instruction. 22lreligion
