4 0 TI Spring Concert-April 28, Honors Night-May 27, Graduation Prac- tice May 29-a collage of directions carefully tacked to a bulletin board announces that nine months of struggle will culminate in the joyous uplifting of voices, the solemn presentation of awards and the final act of receiving diplomas. These signs are more than mere directives. They signify the spirit-the hopes, disappointments, and joys of a school. 1T The same message can be read in thousands of minor events and ordinary objects. A chalkboard hazy with yellow dust conveys the truth that those who seek to know and do must struggle. A twenty- step proof was there-the bell rang, illustrations of ten uses of the comma were there-the bell rang, a half-drawn map of the Western Hemisphere was there-the bell rang once more.
