I prepare through human experience Examining the past and contem- plating the future leads students to probe their own experience in to- day's world. Thus, social studies proposes questions about previous generations and ponders possible answers for man in the future. Social studies helps the students to mold ideals from the knowledge gained and establish firm principles to guide them in life. Through the four year course, the essential Christian beliefs are brought into sharp focus. Serving as teacher, advisor, and friend, the priest becomes a vital force exerting a lasting influence in the lives of many students. Faced with difficult choices later in life, the class of 1975 should always recall their goal to be the best possible persons they can be, using jesus Christ as their example. 1 NX- ix' , SJ!! ln religion classes seniors discuss Christian marriage and the various aspects of morality, and ponder the human thing to do. Marian High School students may attend these programs part time in Carbon County and Schuylkill County facilities. There, a varied curriculum provides for individual differences by allowing each student to choose courses which attract his interest and develop his talent. Rec- ognizing that a purely academic program is not relevant to all students, this alter- native equips those who participate with skills which enable them to contribute to and cope with our complex, automated society. F goal The 1974 Colts had a new power this year and that power was dedication, desire and pride. Bulding upon this power, Chuck Roc- coni pushed each player to the limit of his strength and skill and welded a team which fulfilled the promise of early weeks of training. Although there were a few ups and downs, the motto We can and we will, was upheld in every game regardless of the final score, and the squad was not shut out the entire season. Finally our moment of triumph is reached and graduation will be a yesterday. ln reflection, the slow days in the classroom have passed quickly and all that is left for us is to reflect on memor- ies-some golden and some gray, yet all colored with the joy of trying and growing through daily experience. With new hope and deeper faith we face a future that is ours to better. 122 if IfA.+ff'f-iif,w -., -'ff-4. :Q gyf, ' '5: ' -'A-1 'Q1 31 4 fi',,wj, r will 'ii ff .XI'-l' 1-ww 11... Some leave behind so much- school days dear friends cherished moments Unrevealed dreams and feelings We've had good times bad times easy times hard times loving times And yet, not enough time. We turn and face each other with so many times to remember times to look forward to. We realize that we must make the break be ready for new times Yet, recall old times too, It's time to turn around and walk forward with high hopes.
