THE GAUNTLET STAFF OF 1983-84 5 , .-mxf :'M is I me Didn't anyone take pictures of that event? No eating in the classroom. What do you mean there's no film? I don't understand. Oh well, ldon't think anyone will notice them missing? Did anyone see the pictures I left here? Deadlines . , . when? . . . tomorrow? Typical comments in any given day in the life and times ofthe Gauntlet Staff. DEADline was a dreaded word in the annual class, Death seemed almost cer- tain for every deadline that had to be met. The room wos filled with loud, frantic, evenjoking voices of staff members, ond messy tables rather than desks. On the desks sat tools of an unwanted trade, quadpacks, croppers, ink pad, grease pencil, pencils, pens . . . and ofcourse pictures. Days turned into nights . . . filled with phone calls, receipts, fundraisers, working vaca- tion time, headaches, writing directions so clear to the publisher, and nightmares of large croppers chasing you around the room yelling, DEADline.
