I may be just a foolish dreamer but I don't care Cause I know my happiness is waiting out there, somewhere. I'm searching for that silver lining Horizons that I've never seen Oh, I'd like to take just a moment And dream my dreams. Oh, I'd like to greet the sun each morning and wait amongst the stars at night I'd like to know the taste of honey In my life, in my life. Well, I've had so many pains And I've played so many games Oh buteveryone finds the right way Somehow - some way - some day. I'd like to fly far away from here F Where my mind can see fresh and clear And I'd find a love that I longed to see Where everybody could be what they want to be What they want to be. I wish the world were truly happy living as one. I wish the word they call freedom Someday will come, someday will come. - Lionel Richie 8: Ronald LaPread - fr-144+ 4855126011 Enjoy camfzua glziuifaga EQ V' , XL W Qgfnig f F. x ,f . 5 ' - ,.Q Aifzaciaf Ufiizfy-clfouz azoles Q if Vie' Marian's unique program of service to the community has received much positive publicity during the past year. The 30-hour requirement of MHS students has benefitted numerous groups and individuals throughout the S.D. area, as students work in many capacities with one single purpose: to help others. Some students Cpictured herej worked at a camp for the mentally retardedg others worked fwithout pay, of coursej in hospitals, as tutors, or in various parish activities. All in all, most students have found it to be a very enriching experience, and we're proud of our growing reputation for good and useful community service. His main purpose, however, has been consistent: to uphold Marian's pride and dignity. 135 v i - K if i . ,s-, Q QS K '-Mt, is Miss Karen Chudy, Mr. Appel's secretary, attends to many duties throughout her day. lf not at her own desk typing, answering questions, or taking care of faculty business matters, she is usually seen helping out in the front office. me ,tss mm-r A 'XA-....,,-b 4- i Mrs. Maria Tollefson accomplishes so many tasks here at Marian that it would be impossible to list them all. She is academic vice-principal, moderator of CSF and NHS, and, as in years past, has done a mar- velous job of organizing both faculty and students. One of her new responsibilities this year is that of ASB moderator, and she is shown at work in that capacity here. ofa. Cszaff Mrs. Rosie Viscontti Cnot picturedb is our school treasurer and accountant. She keeps track of all the financial ins and outs of the entire establishment - definitely not an enviable job, but one that she tack- les head-on. Mr. jerry judge - JTR - has continued to uphold high standards of discipline and academics in his role as viceaprincipal. The excellent job he does is eviden- ced by the respect he is shown on campus. His is also the announcer's voice at most home games, and he is very active in the Boosters' activities. Mrs. Rose Cisneros, everyone's mother figure in the front office, must handle 500 small but vital mat- ters in the course of a school dayg everything from keeping attendance records to handing out safety pins or paper clips to needy students and faculty. Mrs. Maria Acosta's day at school is a long and var- ied one. Her main duty is that of school librarian, but she also teaches an English I class and a Spanish I class. Then it's back to the library during the stu- dents' off-hours to help them in their never-ending search for the information they need now. aauffly Mr. Mike Bajo is one of the quieter, more reserved members of the faculty. But he might crack a smile by january and maybe even tell a joke or two by May. His students in Physical Science, Biology, and Phys- ics play Stump the Teacher often, but he claims they never win.
