Qrchestra Club buys new instruments Orchesira club officers are Cecilia Slrom, vice-presidenl: Sue Nylcaza, presideralq Jan Kaval, Treasurer: and Gerri Kernagis, secrelary. Maria's Choral Club and Orcheslra Club were The organizalions responsible for pro- viding lhe music for produclions presenled al Maria. The purpose of 'rhe clubs was lo inslill in bolh lhe members and non-mem- bers alike a grealer apprecialion for lhe arl ol music in all forms. The members were rewarded by lheir sense of accomplishmenl and pride in lheir worlc while The sludenl body was able lo enjoy lhe group's suc- cessful and greally varied performances. The Choral Club parlicipaled in lhe Chrislmas Concerl and added ioy lo shur- ins by lheir caroling. According lo 'rradilion 'rhe Qrcheslra Club sponsored a dance, A Cold Win+er's Night on January IO. The proceeds of lhe dance provided finances for purchasing new inslrumenls. Many acfivifies were planned for fhe members, such as fours fo fhe Chicago Tribune's arf deparfmenf. fhe deparfmenf of arf in Marshall Field, and fhe Arf lnsfifufe. To supplemenf fhese fours, various demon- sfralions of fhe many mefhods used in arf were presenfed af each meefing. Some of fhe members parficipafed, frying 'rheir hand af new Techniques including iewelry design- ing and Easfer egg painfing, On occasion speakers and arf sfudenfs spoke af fhe meefings.
