French Club celebrates International Da lvlaria's French Club, olherwise lcnown as Le Cercle de Sainl Louis IX, aimed 'ro presenl' more cullural aclivilies in which lhe girls could parlicipale. Included in lhe long lisl ol aclivilies was a visil lo Jacques' French Reslauranl on Chicago's Norlh Side, where exquisile cuisine was 'rhe order ol ihe day. ln This almosphere, Sisler Clemenl gave l'he club members an inleresling insighl' lo her European lour and parlicularly her visil lo France lasi summer. A lively period of gueslions and discussion followed. A+ lhe annual Chrislmas Parly, members sampled delicious French paslries and sang French carols. There was also group parli- cipalion in La Bourgogne, a iradiiional French folk dance. lnlernalional Day provided lhe enlire slu- denl body wilh a deeper insighl inlo France, Hs people, and lhe richness ol ils cullure Through a program of songs and dances.
