Because of limifed room in fhe audiforium, only juniors were permiffed fo affend fhe ceremony, buf invifafions were exfended fo all senior parenfs. Fafher John Malin blessed and disfribufed fhe rings, offered fhe Mass, and gave an inspiring homily on fhe symbol- ism associafed wifh fhe ring. The fradifion of Maria was upheld as fhe iunior class presidenf, Benifa lvlonfallaano, congrafulafed fhe seniors on fheir day which mirrored fhree years of hard work and achievemenf. As each girl loolced af her ring, she saw an azure sfone flanked by'fhe lily, crown, and sword on one side represenfing purify, forfifude, and faifh-fhe ideals of a Maria sfudenf. On fhe opposife of fhe sfone is an engraving of fhe Blessed Virgin Mary, fhe model for each girl fo follow. Once again fhis year, a Ring Dance was held in Maria's gym. Upperclassmen and fheir escorfs affended fhis affair which fo- gefher wifh Ring ceremonies leff a deep im- pression on fhe hearfs of fhe seniors and sfarfed fhem on fhe road fo graduafion.
