Miller, Principal of Wfashington Vocational High Schoolg Mrs. Mattie C. Lee, Principal of Xlifashington Vocational Evening Schoolg and Mr. Francis A. Gregory, Assistant Superintendent in charge of Vocational Schools for D. C., at the Burlington Hotel, honoring Mrs. Turner on her retirement. SHE XVILL BE WELL REMEMBERED Wfashington Vocational has fortunately shared in and profited by the thirty-four years of exceptional teaching service rendered by Mrs. V. T. Turner, Her greatest single contribution was in the field of Child Development: She Set up the Cfhild Care and Nursery Assistants Training Course at Wfashington Vocational. The course has become a model for others in the District and in surrounding areas. Ever mindful of the prob- lems of youth, Mrs. Turner organized a branch of the city-wide Teen Club at this School. Mrs. Turner's educational background was gained in the District Public Schools and at Howard University from which she earned both her AB. and M.A. degrees: the subject selected for her thesis was: THE ORIGIN AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE XVASHINGTON VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. -7-
