We sincerely hope you have taken advantage of the opportunities offered to equip yourself for living in a competitive society. You are still in the stage of life when you may paddle along in the quiet waters near the bank of the river of life, but in a brief span of time you will be pushed out into the middle of the swift, turbul ent stream and will find yourself on your own resources, It is then that you will look back to your years of training in school with either regret or gratitude, depending on how well you have accomplished. Remember that you will not pass this way again. Make as many friends as you can, master your subjects well, establish a reputation for being honest, dependable, sincere, kind, and tolerant. Respect those in authority either among the students or on the faculty. If you are placed in a position of leadership, strive to do the task well. And remember that day by day you are writing your record in the minds of your associ- ates. Take care that this record is such that they may be able to speak well of you. And now I bid you farewell and God speed.
