ct s aloof at tfze 1961.51 One bright September day in 1944 sixt en little tots made the r first trip to the grade school building Among the happy excited lasses were Betty Lou Pirkl Pat Shaull Iackie Mis l Ianet Hibbs Nancy Hawkins Iolaine Newmire Kathleen Hogan and Marcia Disterhoft and the following lads Dale Sperry Iack Luce Gary Stockton Jim Iohnson Kenn5 Adams Glenn Newkirk Bob Rotter and Warren Repp It always fascinated us the way Miss Sorenson could keep our runny noses wiped our shoes tied and still teach us our ABC s In first grade we were Joined by Ionel Nieland Kathy Shaull and Garry Waline Ioe Elick and Marlene Coy in second grade in third by Larry Schumacher Esther Ward Ronnie Halvorson Karen Fatland and Mylo Schultz in fourth by Dianne M1ller Harold Byram and Ellen Northey in sixth by Iudy Gerard Richard Sherman Cora Jean Akerman Winifred Novak and Cynthia Alberts This was the group until Junior high when we were Joined by Mildred Tanke Frances Norman Winn Carol Rumple Shirley Schindler and Lorraine Eichler Then came the great day when we set foot in the great halls of Marengo High We thought we were big shots but we were soon knocked down a few notches by the upperclassmen This year Karen McMann Sharon Denzler Fred Becker Rae Iean Jacoby Betty Finley Karen RathJen Barbara Cronbaugh Larry Moore Charles Noaker and Lois Beer Joined our ranks Betty Klein and Ioyce Punke Joined us in our sophomore year Ianice Goodnough came during our Junior year and Don Keegan Joined us the last year We remember how mucx fun we had preparing tor our Iunior Senior Banquet Aquatic Paradise and our Junior Class Play Cheaper by the Dozen During our thirteen years of school we had a few classmates who left us They were Orville Behr lane Bullard Lois Bullard George Daugherty William Dye Betty Fry Patricia Gorsch Robert Glawe Shirley Hampton, Russell Klein Don Roberts Dick Rotter Barbara Sheets and Richard Stratton We are going to miss the familiar halls of Marengo High and all that goes with them We really appreciate everything that all of our teachers our principal and superintendent have done for us CLASS COLORS Ebony and Ivory CLASS FLOWER White Orchid CLASS MOTTO Think big and your deeds will grow Think small and you ll fall behind Think that you can, and you will It's all in the state of mind This page is sponsored by PETERSON S DRUG I ' I if .
