F X N E married Shirell White, Marek 25, and Ruth Cornellson, who married Malcolm Stewart ot the Army Air Brees, August 2 ur class oftleere were President Bill Jackson, Vice president Dlllll Stewart, and Secretary and Treasurer Martha Tones' ur faculty consisted cf superintendent S A Beals, Typing Shorthand, and Home Economics Mrs Robert Garrison, English and Coach H A Gottfried, and Principal Miss Ida Turner Med Hufman from New Middletown entered our eless in the fall of '46 making our fifteenth member 'Ihey were Rosemary Toney Charles Owen Miller Martha Tower, Kenneth Clark, Lucille Tower, Densll Vernon, Betty Ruth Oatt, Sylvia Crecellus, Nellie Mae Duke Charles Lee Moo, Rosemary Myers, Bradle Warren, Dale Mc Narghton, Donald Stewart, and Bred Huffmn Our class officers were President Bradley Warren, Vice President Dale Mc Naughton, Secretary Rose Mary Toney, and Treasurer Betty Ruth Cett Our class colors are blue and white, our class flower ls the white rose, and our motto ls 'Strive to Win We were represented on the basketball team during our Senior Year by Ereddlo Huffman, Donald Stewart, Charles 0 Miller, Kenneth Clark, Sylvln Crecellus Bradley Warren, and Densil Vernon These seven had the honor of partie patlng in the winning of the Sectional Tournament, at Paoli, which was the first won by e Crawford County Team Our faculty consisted of Superintendent--S A Beals, Principal--Miss Ida Turner, Typing, Shorthand, and Home Economics--Mrs Robert Garrison, and Coach--H A Gottflrd We shall leave Marengo High School wondering where our path of life may lead, but we will always remember the Geed Old Class of 194'7. Becculaureato Sermon wus delivered by Rev. 0. S. Huffman at the Merengo Evangelical United Brothern Church, Sunday evening April 20. Class day was Monday afternoon, April 21, at Merengo High School. Commencement Exercises were at the Rialto Theatre, Tuesday evening, April 22. The annual Junior-Senior Banquet was held Friday night, April 11, 1947, at the Eastern Star Lodge Hall. The setting was Hawaiian. Soft Hawaiian music filled the air through most of the evening. The large yellow moon smiled happily on the group as a trio of Sophomores sang Honolulu Moon. The room was lighted by candles of the J'unior's and Seniors class colors. Robert Poe, vice-president of the Junior class was the toastmaster. A ceremony of the Lei was presented by Mary Tower and Betty Ruth Catt. The Lei was made of-red, white, purple and yellow carnations. ' Mr. Gottrried, our basketball coach favored us with a speech entitled 'Sunshine and Showers? A farewell song, Ohola Ge, was played by Miss Turner for the Seniors.
