SEXUAL EWENTS September 23,the Home Economics Department held a pie supper at the Red- men Hall to raise funds for the remodeling of the home economics room of the school. One hundred and seventeen dollars were cleared and the room has been remodeled. The kids all enjoyed themselves at a party the seniors gave the freshmen on September 27 at the Redmen Hall. The party was one of welcome to the freshmen to the high school. December 19, the seniors held another party in honor of the big fat man with the little white beard, Santa Claus. Everyone received a nice gift and went home with their 'tummies' full,because Santa had left plenty to eats Four girls of the senior class became engaged during the year of l9h9. Della Stewart to Gene White, Elizabeth Stroud to Bill Sprinkle, Betty True to Darrell Stroud and Evelyn Harper to Hugh Jackson. Darrell and Bill are in the service and Gene and Hugh have jobs near home. January 30, l9h9, Viola Clifton entertained seven girls in her home. All the girls went home around nine satisfied with the fun they had had. The annual Junior-Senior Banquet was held Friday night, April lb, at the Tip Top Inn. The setting was a Bon Voyage. It was beautifully decorated with the class colors of the juniors and seniors. Beautiful singing was furnished by sophomore girls and boys. The regular routine of speeches were made by the fellow-classmates and the dinner was served. The memu was'planned by the juniors. The Bacculaureate Sermon for the Senior class of 1950 was delivered by Rev. Robert Poindexeter at the Marengo Christian Church, April 23,l95O. The graduates were dressed in suits with corsages of white carnations . Beautiful bouquets of flowers decorated the church while a fragrant odor filled the air, as did the music from the organ. At last the day of April 25 had arrived and the fourteen graduates were gathered at the Rialto Theater for their dipolmas. The Commencement was given by the class,wh5ch proved their determination to make a success in the world. The graduates wore white gowns and carried red roses. 'Tha stage was beautifully decorated with flowers. As the night wore on each graduate was realizing that the memories of school would always linger!1 his mind. Mr. H. A. Gottfried awarded dipblmas to the fourteen seniors: Viola Clifton, Lois Dean, Leta Grunden, Ella Ham an, Evelyn Harper,Mabel Jenkins, Geneva Hutslar, Jackie Jones, Joyce Schmidt,Kathryn Scott,De1la Stewart, Elizabeth Stroud, Betty True, and Charles Wyman.
