Navy, January 16, Josephine Paschal, who married'Shi1-ell White, Marek 25, and Ruth Cornelison, who married Malcolm Stewart of the Army Air Forces, August 2. Our class officers were: President--Bill Jackson,vice-president--Donald Stewart, and Secretary and Treasurer--Martha Toner. Our faculty consisted of: Superintendent--S. A. Beals, Typing, Shorthand, and Home Economics--Mrs. Robert Garrison, English and Coach H. A. Gottfried, and Principal Miss Ida Turner. FTOC Huffman from New Middletown entered our class' in the fall of '46, making our fifteenth member. They were: Rosemary Toney, Charles Owen Miller, Martha Tower, Kenneth Clark, Lucille Tower, Densil Vernon, Betty Ruth Catt, Sylvin Grecelius, Nellie Mae Duke, Charles Lee Free, Rosemary Myers, Bradley Warren, Dale Mo Narghten, Donald Stewart, and Bred Huffman. Our class officers were: President--Bradley Warren, Vice-President--Dale Mc Naughton, Secretary--Rose Mary Toney, and Treasurer--Betty Ruth Catt. Our class colors are blue and white, our class flower is the white rose, and our motto is Strive to Win. We were represented on the basketball team during our Senior Year by: Freddie Huffman, Donald Stewart, Charles O. Miller, Kenneth Clark, Sylvin creoelius, Bradley Warren, and Densil Vernon. These seven had the honor of participating in the winning of the Sectional Tournament, at Paoli, which was the first won by a Crawford county Team. Our faculty consisted of: Superintendent--S. A. Beals, Principal--Miss Ida Turner, Typing, Shorthand, and Home Economics--Mrs. Robert Garrison, and Coach--H. A. Gottfird. We shall leave Marengo High School wondering where our paths of life may lead, but we will always remember the Good Old Class of l94'7. Bacculaureate Sermon wus deliarered by Rev. O. S. Huffman at the Marango Evangelical United Brothorn Church, Sunday evening April 20. Class day was Monday afternoon, April 2l, at Marongo High School. Commencement Exercises were at the Rialto Theatre, Tuesday evening, April 22. The annual Junior-Senior Banquet was held Friday night, April ll, 1947, at the Eastern Star Lodge Hall. A f The setting was Hawaiian. Soft Hawaiian music filled the air through 51 most of the evening. The large yellow moon smiled happily on the group as 5 a trio of Sophomores sang Honolulu Moon. .4 5' The room was lighted by candles of the Junior's and Senior's class colors. ' 1 . 5 Robert Poe, vice-president of the Junior class was the toastmaster. A 'lg ceremony of the Lei was presented by Mary Tower and Betty Ruth Gott. The Lei ?. was made of- red, white, purple and yellow carnati ons. ' 5 Mr. Gottfried, our basketball coach favored us with a speech entitled g Sunshine and Showers?
