Since then there have been many changes, although a few of us have managed to come through together. Our first years were spent in trying to grasp the fundamentals for a foundation to later life. All through the grades we encountered many ups and downs, including measles, humps, whooping cough, and broken limbs. Although it was a struggle, we managed to finish the eighth grade. Our Freshman year started with the enrollment of twenty-seven. They were: Donald Stewart, Jackie Borgerding, Bill Jackson, Charles O. Miller, Nellie Mae Duke, Sylvin Grecelius, Dale McNaughton, Kenneth Clark, Lester Stroud, Ruth Cornelison, Lucille Tower, Mary Summers, Josephine Paschal, Betty Mackey, Rose- mary Myers, Bradley Warren, Rose Mary Toney, Virginia Jones, Rosemary Coleman, Berniece McIntosh, Martha Tower, Everett Lahue, Densil Vernon, Keith Scott, Donald Roll and Carl Lintonx, and Betty Catt- Our class officers were: .President--Charles p. Miller, Vice-Tresident-- Donald Stewart, and Secretary and Treasurer--Martha Tower. Our faculty consisted of: Superintendent--J. W. Beeks, who left to gc to Dubois and C. C. Crosby, who succeeded him. Principal--Piss Ida Turner and English--Mrs. O. R. Lynch. Scott Miller volunteered to coach the basketball team, es they were unable 'to secure an regular coach. . At the beginning of our Sophomore year we found our class had diminished with the loss of Jackie Borgerding, Lester Stroud, Rosemary Coleman, Berniece McIntosh, Everett Lahue, Donald Roll, Keith Scott, and Carl Linton.
