l Left to Right Stanley Church Emil Olbnch serves as President and Wrlliam Corson Irma Stockwell Emll Wnlllam Corson serves as Secretary Olbrich Arthur Mlller Treasurer Although the Board of hducatlon rccuves no large fanfare it is unanimously agreed upon that It has the hardest Job of all to lo that of steadfastly establishing and mamtamm, the opportunity for all boys and gurls of hugh school age to attend and erudlte from the men and women who make up a part f todays teachmg profession Marengo Community Hugh bchool Dis trymg to give ts students a good basic background for llfe trnct Number 154 as good cltlzens and future parents of America ln order to do this we are attempting to fulfill all college requirements and also have established what we thmk IS a good general curriculum for non college stu dents As most of our pupils belong to the latter group we feel this program especial ly fulfllls the needs of our community Vle offer courses we thmk adequate as prep aratlon for the particular Jobs open to our graduates here for those gomg into office or general busmess work for building trades for agrncultural and home economlcs work But along ulth these vocational courses we mslst, that each student get enough liberal art courses to open their mlnds to the pleasures of good readmg and good thlnkmg Regardless of curriculum we are especial ly mterested nn mstllling good work hablts ln our students We want to turn out cltlzens who are proud to work at what ever Job they choose and who expect to do thelr full share and to en,1oy the satnsfac tlon of achievement We especially want these young people to learn t get along together to learn to wull need to do m later llfe We have a full sports program a music program and many other msnle and outside organizatlons and functions bv whlch this can be achieved We teach democracy and a full under standmg of the functions and purposes of goxernment through regular courses as well as through a practlclng student govern ment wlth both a benate and a House partlupatlng By these various means we are attempt mg to run a good school We hope that we have achneved that purpose hmll Olbrxch Presldent Board of Education Q 1 ' t ' ' - . .
