X . , ' l O emi f S XM E31 cuss raomzsv 'H' It is now the fall of 1957 The class of '47 is having a reunion in the auditorium at llaxgcuse lr lhvle, still principal, is special guest ' Every one is gathered around the new juke box that has been recently added to other modern equipment The auditorium ie, of course, enlarged and very streamlined The lovely curtains for the stage add greatly to its beauty Even lr Callahan has new gadgets to mke everything so convenient Irs Carter and lr Brown have retired: the autontic sweeper, perfected by llr Callahan, does complete cleaning by just pres- sing a button llildred Goff, who had such perfect training as Class President, got everyone to sit and chat about his life after High School After this we were still nowhere. lhy? Everyone, as usual, was talking at once But Mildred thought of a better way. She stood up and said, 'Here comes lr lhvls ' Everyone stopped at once releabering this sig: from school days Then llildred started telling of her past After gradu- ation she went for a short visit to Greenville, Ohio lell, this short visit became an extended one, and after awhile there were ledding Bells ringing for Ilildred and Frankie After s. perfect honeymoon in Ric, hack they flew to Greenville, but things grew dull and so off they went to New York. Now they are King and Queen of the Jitter- bug festival. Frankie, just like Sinatra, has all the girls 'Swoonlng . llildred, as in High School, gets the Ihistles . Gaynelle Hanley, after graduation, joined Kmneth in Japan. On board the U.S.S. Lucky she and General Fitzgerald had a beautiful wedding ceremony. After several years abroad they returned to Big Island and now have a nice little farm. They are very happy with their three children. Garnett llilam, after Farmville S. T. C., star player of a nationally faaoue basket- ball team, won in a series of games. Garnett loved this but 'Gump' was far away in Big Island, So back she cans and she and 'Gump' have a beautiful home on the new high- way recently completed. Now Garnett is coaching girls' basketball at our own lhrcuse High and 'Gulp' is sanager cf the Paper lill. Nancy Hughes, having won Beauty contests all over the world, just flew in from Paris. She gave some of her precious time to a Paris designer to model a few clothes. Nancy, now a very famous star, just nde it to this reunion between pictures. She has 9' Knob at SN already colpleted twenty-five movies. Naturally, she had the leading role. Nancy, - 'X an being divorced twice, just cs.n't lake up her mind. We think she will eventually go back to Big Island and James. Lynwood Collins worked in lashingtcn for three years. He had to wait for Nellie ,S Q Grey to graduate. lell, after a big wedding they went to Nashville, Tennessee, and fs wg' every Saturday night they can be heard from 9 c'c.lock until 10. Roy Acuff has faded P N out of the 'Grand Ole 0pry . No wonder, Lynwood got there and took over! They have 6 two little girls and it is a special feature of the 'Grand Ole Opry' when they sing ii with 'lam' and 'Daddy . - is 'if t 'll:llnie1'5:-imlinso: cgntinlqzedktgt farm witgfhis unclehfor two yzarsi t:en backdhgisint -, , 5 - o nnsy a an us oo easy. course, e saw p en y o s owe -an r e, ii hut this wasn't for Tomnie. He left Pennsylvania and went West. He purchased a bar Six 1, ranch and lives very peacefully just riding in the rodeo. '1'onmie,' as in High School, ' 1 I is still the bachelor type. He just can't mke up his mind yet. ' ' Pauline Turpin decided to stay at home after graduation. Why? Because Gerald lives N only a little way down the road. Together they planned a home and had it built. Now ,, they live very happily. Pauline keeps busy caring for their two children and Gerald is an industrious farner. fx The latest news flashes and sports reviews concern C. R. Oliver. Right after grad- S X 55 uation C. R. joined a nationally famous basketball team and has been chosen the most 2 if guslstanldlingtplzyertoflthinprgfesaxn for three consecutive years. Nc wonder he is good 1. lg e s ou p ay g or cuss 3 Ihen Sidney Craig came to Marcuse to ses Betty Ann Fox graduate, he decided he liked sag S Big Island better than the Marines. Of course, Betty was an inspiration. Anyway, he decided to buy the Paper lull. Betty went to Phillips Business College as she Ind plan- liiii h ned and came back to Big Island. She quickly became Sidney's stenographer and business QA was good. hat before long Betty was more interesting than business and soon .all Big ,S Island was excited and planning a big church wedding. They now live in a big brick house and about three times a week you see them at the new theatre. When a Senior, f, little did Betty realize that right between Iright's Shoe Shop and Harlow's Grocery lv-2 would someday be a big beautiful air conditioned theatre. 9 I As llr. Davis came up to make his speech, we saw no great change. After a couple all ' ig' of jokes we were really back in school. There were even visions of a Proposition in Geometry flashing through everyone's mind. Q As lr. Davis spoke on, I sat back in my chair very meh relaxed. Now I knew that 5 everyone had a wonderful life ahead, and atttaixagext reunion there would be even more miore o .
