The French club has participated in many events during this school year. The members participated in France by the Sea, which was the Neiman Marcus Fortnight. They had a Christmas party where the members made a Christmas cake called buche de Noel. The group all went to a movie Subway in Dallas. French Club members enjoyed a crepe party, Ms. Bahr demonstrated three ways to make crepes. The students then filled them with ice cream and fruit. ln the spring they roined the German and Spanish clubs and participated in a Cultural Food Heather waits patiently for instruction, Exchange, Students make a dish typical of the country of the language they are studying, and they taste the foods of other countries. This group started two years ago at Marcus. The purpose of this club is to encourage a respect for all nations in the Americas and an understanding of them based on a more thorough knowledge and appreciae tion of the peoples of the Western Hemisphere. This year they raised money for the Mexico earthquake and South American volcano victims. They also had a faiita dinner and bake sale. For Christmas they had a pirlata party. They went to San Antonio March 14-16 to attend the state meeting to elect the of- ficers for Texas. The Spanish Club tries to meet every other Tuesday. Ms, Ramirez is the head sponsor. The other sponsors are Ms. Tekell, Ms, Wilson, Ms. Phillips, and Mr. Brower. The officers for 85-86 are: President - Lee Presley, Vice President - Cindy Yonker, Treasurer - Laurie Schafer, Reporter- Molly Arnold, Secretary - Cathy Jordon. There are thirty-two members, Requirements for membership are at least one year of Spanish, and for Associate members there aren't any re- quirements.
