one step AHEAD This year's girls' track team was tremendous. The freshmen, even though small, were very strong athletes. Girls' track participants are freshmen: Stephanie Luna, Meredith Phillips, Shannon Moon, Michelle Bodnor, Misty Morse, and Jana Howard, Rachel Dye, Melisa Greenlee, La Conda McLane, Amy Raynor. This year's sophomores are also very strong. The participants are Tara Tsakonas, Kristal Hodge, Lisa Botello, Monica Martinez, Terri Newsom, Jannele Podilla, Lesley Thompson, Shannon Lunsford, Nikkie Millard, Sheila Bell, Wendy Story, Dena Adoy. The team, coached by Suanne Buschang has had a very successful year with victories over such teams as LHS, Mesquite, Sher- man, North Mesquite, Grand Prairie, and South Grand Prairie. Many of the team members went to district. Team record holders are: Teresa Bain, Kristee Thomas, Jennifer Murphy, Patty 0linger, Christine Bobbitt, Kerry Mears, Sue Hauck, Bruce Smith, Scott Wilson, Jimmy Dalton, Bobby Cullen, Brian Gargan, and Dale Kildal. The team swims 10 events regularly at meets. They are: 200 yard medley relay, 200 yard l.M., 200 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle, 100 yard back stroke, 100 yard butterfly stroke, 50 yard freestyle, 500 yard freestyle, and 400 yard freestyle relay.
