TRACK l Track Team Twenty six boys, including ten lettermen, reported in the spring for tr ck Since only three seniors were lost by graduation, the boys looked forward to an excellent season Daily workouts lncluded work lndoors and outdoors Callsthentlcs in the gym were Jumping rope, cllmbing up a rope, chin ups, push ups, sit ups, weight lift ing, and other StP6tCYlUg and co ordination exercises Included in the outdoor workouts were section running, sprints, starts, time trlals, field events, and baton exchanges It was hoped that the new track and field could be used the latter part of the season Indlvldual PU1Hl1g exerts that the boys participated in this year were 100 yard dash, 220 yard dash, MMO yard dash, 880 yard dash, and the mlle run Indlvidual fleld events were Shot put, discus throw, football throw, pole vault, high jump, and broad jump Relays in wnlch the team entered were MMO yard relay, 880 yard relay, mile relay, mile medley relay, and 2 mile relay The team planned to enter nine major relays and a few invitational meets The schedule for the year was March april April April Aprll May Way May May l 17 Iowa State Class C Indoor at Iowa City Holstein Relays at Holstein Tomahawk Relays at Cherokee Maple Valley vonference at Holstein Alta nelays at Alta Aurella Relays at Aurelia or D1OUX vity Relays at Sioux City Cherokee Valley Conference at Cleghorn Iowa Distrlct Class C Iowa state Class C outdoor at Ames working out! r-w-1 Up in the air about sometning?9?
