Up on a mountain that stands so high Ican see the world below and above the sky The air is cool, the wind blows so wild and free But in places on the ground. life is like a twisted tree No more trust in anyone, no one wants to care I think I'll stay up here and not go down there Up here I'm free. I talk with the heavenly one Isleep by the stars and play by the sun Wild and free is the perfect life to come upon Live on a mountain with the wild and heavenly one. Portia Wintebourne The roar of laughter at the student-faculty basketball game. . .running along the sand on the Spanish field trip. . . nervousness of candidates for ASB offices at the assembly. . . change of dress for the old fashioned day to celebrate the return of the swallows. . . the Christ- mas dance. . . all these are part of the memories from the passing year. As the school days went on, I realized how con- fused one really is. . . so many decisions to be made. Changed feelings, strange moods, wondering about all that surrounded me. I saw a change in myself, my friends, and fellow students. Idiscovered the answers to many problems, but in other ways I be- came even more bewildered. The year has now come to a close, I feel I will leave more of an indi- vidual. When we leave our junior high, we shall never return; yet, a part of us will remain. We shall al- ways carry with us memories of the best year at Capo. l ' The Florescent Scorpion staff thanks all those who have helped in capturing a part of history of Capo Junior High: Mr. Walshe, our advisor; Mr. Milton, and all the students and faculty for their aid. As editor, I'd like to give my special thanks to the staff : for so much help and hard work. . .
