These comments drum on their ears constantly, but in spite of it, they have done all in their power to help us find ourselves. When we come to our Senior year and don't have sufficient subjects to constitute two majors and two minors, they somehow see that we get them. Whenever there is something special, we can always count. on the faithful faculty members to be at our side to help us soc it through. For the bearing of these reniarks and the privileges they have always given us, we now sincerely want to thank them and we'l1 remember it was they who helped us through the-sv four years in high school which we'l1 never forget, Z l Q MAROON 81 WHITE JIM HUNT BILL LEE My Curly Headed How Many Hearts , Have You Broken President . ..... 4 Vicebpresident ' ' ' ' Vice President . . . 1-Z Basketball' ' ' 1'Z'3 Treasurer ....... 3 Baseball 1'Z'3 Football I 1 g . 1-Z-3-4 Football .... 1-Z-3 Basketball ...... 1-2 Secretfry ' ' ' j ' ' ' Baseball I i . Gene Breseman is engaged in the prosperous business of the modern Totem-Pole concession. Our U, S. Government is out of debt now -- but the people are in -- due to our new Secretary of the Treasury, Elwyn Shugars. The James Skyline Co., Arlo James proprietor, is doing a thriving business of trans- porting the World's Champion Football Team, The Flub-Dubbers, with Kenny Artis, coach and Jim Hunt, assistant coach and water-boy, Bill Lee has finally started to manufacture his Lee Home Permanent, He has used it secretly for sometime but just now released it for public use. Audrey and Aurieta, that sensational, unforgettable pair, are singing commercials on the television screen, Bill Bent, inventor of great renown, has just completed a machine to record debits and credits in the proper columns and make the books balance, A fish hatchery has just started business on Cranberry Lake -- Floyd Hering , owner and operator. Richard Olsen, follower of Father Flannagan, is operating under the belief that There's no such thing as a bad boy. He runs a Boys' Home and sympathizes with the delinquents. Maurice now travels around town with his tin cup, ably teaching his monkey the ways o money making. We hear the organ grinding profession is quite profitable nowadays, Marian Griner owns and operates one of the largest horse ranches in the west. Her first love always was horses, but we understand she now has a second love. Lyle Stuck lives in Texas, where he owns a prosperous 1,000 acre ranch, and raises longhorns, shorthorns and sagebrush, I' We find Betty Clark busily engaged at her household chores plus running a day nursery on the side. There is a new business that has lately come into great prominence. It is the Vicious Vocalizers Co, with Georgia Emig as active president, Her secretarial staff is under the able direction of Jean Tank who has just lately invented a new typewriter that makes her work much simpler, Outstanding in the field of Home Economics is Donna Eisenhauer who travels about giving personal home demonstration. Her experience in the field is unlimited. 10 We find Gene Barber is now not only an interest holder in the Parke-Davis Company, but a life-long possessor of the Davis heir. We are pleased at the progress made by Priscilla Mathews, for she is now a writer for the Unusual Fairy Stories Co., designed for both young and old alike, Busy keeping order in her MHome for Hopeless Hoodlums is Nancy Clark whose kind heart was concerned about helping them get another start. She is turning out fine citizens we hear. There has been a new partnership begun and the members seem quite familiar to us. They are none other than Joan and Billy Harris, William is doing well at his commer cial art position and Joan is taking a course in home nursing. Lula Belle Youngs has just signed a life-long contract with a prominent recording company and her first record is to be released soon. They say her distinctive style will make the Hit Parade. We find Joanne Cox is now the head seamstress of the e'Needle and Thread Co. 'She makes everything from undershirts to overcoats, In one of the corner drug stores, whom do we find but --- one energetic young phar- macist by the name of Dorris Pyle. She always did want to be a druggist and now she' up to her ears in pills, Well, A pill a day, keeps the doctor away, We see a sign hung outside a dinky little dwelling that reads: Pianos tuned reason- ably. Can it be that Emagene has finally acquired perfect pitch? Well, these are the various accomplishments of the class of 5l as we take our eye from the keyhole and continue on our way. ll S Will We, the Senior Class of 1951 of Marcellus High School, members being of sound mind and body, do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament, revoking all wills made previously and do set our hands and seals on this 23rd day of May in the year of our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-One. What had walked in the front door ? Only us, the new Freshmen. As the lowest form of animal life, we met and elected our officers: President - Bill Bent, Vice-President - Jim Hunt, Secretary - Joan Harris, Treasurer - Elwyn Shugars. Our two Student Council members were Floyd Hering and Aurieta Wright. We chose Mrs, Kirby as our Class Advisor, A few weeks later we all went through the torturous form of initiation and after that, everything settled down to normal? ? f? In our Sophomore year we came back, bent on revenge on the incoming Freshmen We hope we succeeded. We met and chose Mrs. Kirby our Advisor. We then proceeded to elect Gene Breseman - President, Jim Hunt - Vice-President, Gene Barber - Treasurer, Bill Lee - Secretary, Student Council Representatives - Bill Harris and Lula Belle Youngs The next year we were upperclassmen and had the Swelled Heads. It didn't last very long though when the Seniors came along. This year we elected Gene Breseman - second time President, Maurice MacCartny - Vice-President, Marian Griner - Secretary and Jim Hunt - Treasurer. The Student Council members were Jean Tank and Charles Phillips. This year we selected Miss Tait as our Advisor. Our activities were a Christmas dance with the Sophomores, a Banquet and Prom for the Seniors and our Junior Play, Judy Pulls the Curtain. At the end of the year the school voted and chose Gene Breseman, Bill Lee and Jean Tank to be the Student Council President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treas- urer, respectively. At last the big moment, we enter the school as Seniors. We met and chose Mr. Allen to be our Class Advisor. We then proceeded to invest the honor of President on Jim Hunt, Vice-President on Bill Lee, Secretary on Georgia Emig, and Treasurer on Elwyn Shugars. Marian Griner and Kenneth Artis were chosen our Student Council members. The Senior Class Play was Mistakes At The Blakes on December 8th, in spite of the impassable roads. The time we have looked forward to for so long is now near, and although we are very happy about the whole thing, it is so seemingly the end that we will need our memories to keep us.
