Class History Freshinenz That was our year to remember and the teachers year to regret. We started out the year a merry bunch of little angels with Miss Jeanette Lawhun as our advisor. Officers chosen for the year were President-Marian Willis, Vice- President-Jack Hunt, Secretary and Treasurer-Shirley Hagan. Student Council Representatives were Terry Quinn and Sue Morleg. Being Freshmen we didn't do much but keep the teachers busy. We had a few candy sales and gave a dance for the high school, which of course included us. On top of all this we had to be initiated and the Sophomores of that year did a good job too. As Sophomores we quieted down a little for our second year in high school with our class advisor, Mr. William Tirnm, who watched over things as the officers for the year were chosen. President-Martha Bainbridge, Vice-President-Bernadeen Swartz, Secretary and Treasurer-Annabelle Thornburgh. Student Council Representatives were Shirley Hagan and John Poulsen, We still thought ourselves pretty cocky so we initiated the Freshmen. We thought we did a good job too. Then came the Christmas Dance which we called Winter Wonderland . We had the help of the Juniors of that year. We had an orchestra and a real one at that. We thought that was doing good. We also had the traditional Santa Claus. Throughout the year we increased our treasury by having candy sales, coke sales and etc. Now we are Juniors . By this time we've learned to behave a little so we settle down to presenting a nice Christmas Dance with the help of the Sophomores. The dance was known as the Candlelight Ball with a big crowd in attendance. Our advisor for this year was Mr. William Timm. Officers chosen for the year were President-Richard Wyman, Vice-President-Terry Quinn, Secretary and Treasurer-Irene Krieger. We sent as representatives to the Student Council John Poulsen and Shirley Hagan. In March came the annual Junior Play which was The Bargain Bride which left a big crowd laughing until it hurt, Also through the year we had candy sales and coke sales which brought more money into our treasury. Then at the finish of our Junior year in May we presented the Seniors with a nice prom that was well attended. The prom brought out suits and ties for the boys and a fine display of colors in formals for the girls. It was called the Old Fashioned Garden . Following the prom was the banquet at which Seniors, Juniors, Faculty Members and Schoolboard Members had a nice dinner and heard speeches along with some funny remarks. Now we are real people. We are Seniors . We selected a new member of the faculty to be our class advisor, Mr.'Richard Longenecker, The class officers were chosen as usual. President-Terry Quinn, Vice-President-Verlyn Eisenhauer, and Secretary and Treasurer-Janet L. Stratton. Student Council Representatives were Lyle Mikel and Nancy L. Storey. The Seniors were chosen officers of the Student Council too. President, John Poulsen: Vice-President, Annabelle Thornburghg and Secretary and Treasurer, Irene Krieger, Our treasury was kind of slim after giving the prom and banquet of the last school year so we made a New Year's Resolution to put some money in it, We had several candy sales at school and coke sales at football and basketball games, Then came our cake-walk which turned out some good cakes. A medium crowd attended and we auctioned off the nice looking cakes and some entertainment to keep it interesting. We had a couple of dances, One of which was the Sweetheart Swing . We scheduled a Donkey basketball game for March. ln December we put on the annual Senior Play The Great Ben Allah , Our classmates in both the music and sports field did a good job this year and in the years previous. We're proud of them. For our last event this year we have made reservations to take a boat trip toNiagara Falls We are to leave on May 15, But really this is not our last act. We are leaving all the money in the treasury to the school. Then on May 24, 1950 will be the final day--GRADUATION! 8
