S tudem C ozmcil We at Marcellus are proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Student Council. The Student Council organization was accomplished in the 1946-47 school year. In 1947, as in every year since, voting machines have been used by the student body to choose the officers. The first election was held in the spring of 1947. Three new clothes racks were purchased for use at various evening affairs at school. The Student Council took over the operation of these during the home bas- ketball games and the senior play. N ational H 0mm Society The National Honor Society is a nationwide organization founded in 1921. This year ten new members were inducted into the Marcellus Chapter. The new members in- clude three seniors and seven juniors. Candidates for the National Honor Society are selected by faculty vote from those students who have achieved a scholastic average placing them in the upper third of their class. Membership is limited to 10 per cent of the Junior and five per cent of the Senior class at each yearly election. The members are chosen on the basis of 50 per cent scholar- ship, 10 per cent character, 20 per cent leadership and 20 per cent service. This year's faculty advisor is Miss Patricia Dean of the English Department. Seated: Virginia Martin, Judith Partickt Janet Eibert, Margaret McLaughlin.
