even Zaye? 122 une ln debt as usual, Cin spite of an unusually successful car washl, and disregarding it as usual, the class of '64 began months in advance to plan the best of all senior receptions. Silver chandeliers were crammed into hidden cafeteria closets, the Palace of Versailles, planned and constructed by Jean Clark and Wendy Vosburgh, suddenly appeared in the far end of the gym, and by the end of the week, the palace fountains had begun to spray colored waters. On Friday, the fifth of June, we took time out from prom decorations, senior week shopping, and, for some of us, last minute test cramming, to put on either high heels or iackets and ties and ioin in Senior Day. Some took over classes, a new periodic table was developed by Jim Snow. Others, such as Candy, Acky, and the Fitz twins quartet entertained us with They're Rioting in Chemistry at the Senior Assembly. Also at the Assembly the class history and the Congressional Record, a class prophecy unlike any other, were read aloud and laughed over. Released by the final bell, we rushed home, the girls to have their hair done, the boys to pick up tuxes and flowers. And then at 8:00, after parties at Sue HaIpern's, Jeannie Clark's, Rena Garfield's, Linda Fainzin's, or Laura Cohen's, we entered the palace gardens, transformed from white levis and curlers, to long gowns, white gloves, or spotless tuxedos. After the Prom, we all headed for the Glover, a roast turkey dinner, dancing, and, for some, strange songs about little 'Tommy Tucker.' Since Friday was an all-nighter for many, Saturday's sunrise was witnessed by many drowsy couples before the breakfast at K.. CUGZ' .S dl? EDWARD L. Revived by coffee and doughnuts, and a skit by Kip, Larry, Dana and Bo, some piled into cars for beach parties at Crane's and Preston, after others headed home for some much-needed sleep. Saturday night was the Block Party at the Stephenson's, where those who were still going strong danced in the streets until midnight. Sunday came, and with it senior religious services and breakfasts in the morning, and the short simple Baccalaureate at 3:00. For many of us, dressed in the blue graduation robes, the Baccalaureate was the first time we had realized the seriousness of graduation. Sunday night broke the mood with another beach party, but Monday morning brought all day rehearsals for an indcor gradua- tion. ln spite of the lack of enthusiasm during rehearsals we were all smiling by the time the Banquet and cur beautiful yearbooks with their white and gold covers came, Steve Limon, our head editor, donated his backyard for a yearbook signing party and, in spite of several yearbooks being switched in The dark, most of us brought home our own, covered with dozens of signatures and 'best luck in the future's.' After more rehearsals on Tuesday-for an outside graduation this time, we all lined up in the tunnel for a slow and, for many, sad march into the football stadium. In spite of the mist and fog rolling in, the icy tassels blowing in our faces, and the omission of CradIed by the Sea, it was an impres- sive service.
