Eighth graders are ready to move on. Eighth graders at Marathon High were more mature this year and were looking forward to being in the high school next year. When they were not in school, they could be found watching their favorite shows Growing Pains and Cosby Show, hanging out with their friends or enjoying water sports. If eighth graders had it their way, they would have more freedom and shorter hours. Marathon would have a movie theater, a skating rink, or just a place to go in general. The eighth graders thought that living in the Keys was boring, but all right, and they wanted to see more school spirit in the middle school. By the end of the year, the eighth graders were convinced that it was time to move on.
