Change More Credits Needed When students returned to Marathon High School in August, they were faced with an increase in graduation re- quirements from 25 to 26. Language arts credits grew from four to six; science was increased to three; social studies doubled from two to four; and a new physical education requirement, life managament skills and personal fitness, was added. An additional requirement of one-half credit in performing fine arts added two new courses to the cur- riculum — drama and dance. Dance class exposed students to dance as a creative art form through instruction in a variety of dance forms. Drama used dramatic exercises and on-stage acting experiences to make students more aware of themselves and more familiar with the dramatic form in literature. 8 Opening
