Facing challenges together has strengthened the class of '85 and molded them into a single unit. From their first days as seventh and eighth graders, struggling with the mysteries of impossible- to-find homerooms, unlockable lockers and apparently inedible cafeteria food, they knew it wouldn’t be easy. As freshmen and sophomores, familiar with the day-to-day routine, they gained in confidence and manag- ed to face the rigors of biology, geometry and learning to drive. As they began their junior year, the realization that they would soon be seniors lent an element of urgency to all they did. Chemistry, American History, college prep English, Computer Lab and Humanities seemed at times to be more than they could handle. They survived, however, as all juniors eventually do, and returned to school in the fall of ’84 as full-fledged veterans, ready and willing to assume their position as seniors and school leaders. The experiences of their past five years somehow made this year seem much easier, and gave them the opportunity to prepare for their futures. Seniors 15
