SEVENTH GRADE Being a seventh grader has always been a bit rough on Marathon’s youngest students. This year’s “little people” were no exceptions. During the first few weeks, everyone seemed dazed and confused. Eventually, though, they got used to the surroun- dings and Marathon’s way of doing things, and their true natures began to develop. Although still a bit unsure, they became more confident as the year progressed, and by the end of the year they had become old hands, ready to assume leadership of the junior high and help next year’s “little people” find their ways through the halls, class changes, bell schedules, and locker combinations that make up the mystery known as seventh grade. The seventh grade girls found it more enjoyable to eat their lunch outside. 16 Seventh Grade
