lass Histor The first grains of sand in our hour-glass started their downward journey when we started school in the fall of 1948. Miss Dress greeted a group of 19 that first day. Pat Rydstrom, the friendly neighbor, had to walk Ronnie Howard to school because he was afraid to walk alone. ln the second grade jim proved to be a problem. As ever he continually played during school time, and due to Mrs. Waldstein's insistance was working during recess. Karen Braunschweig joined our class this year. ln the third grade Mrs. Custis encouraged our healthful habits by a chart in the form of a house. Behind the shutters of the windows were our pictures. If we succeeded in performing certain tasks we were allowed to open the shutters. In the fourth grade, Miss Lovrien introduced history and geography to us. This was the year Mary Barber and Dennis Arndt joined our group. Miss Lovrien liked us so well that she moved to fifth grade as we did. This was the year our boys' trio dressed up like Negroes and sang Down Yonder at P,T.C. Gary Walton joined us in the sixth grade. This same year Don Grow kept losing his report card but somehow it always managed to end up on Mrs. Benson's desk. With half of the grains fallen in our hour-glass we finished sixth grade and proudly joined junior high. ln the fall of 1954 Mr. Beckel welcomed us to jr. High. lt was different from the grades. Everyone enjoyed it very much, particularly the theater parties and skating parties. We al so got our first sample of basketball and cheerleading in these grades. The biggest day of our freshman year was the day we were initiated. lt was a big thrill to finally be members of high school. ln the sophomore year we got our first chance at driving and it is believed this is where Mr. Hazelhoff developed his ulcers. Some of the main reasons were because of Mary Dell and Mary jeanine's insistance that the highway wasn't wide enough so they drove off the road. Three big thrills in our junior year were the prom, receiving our class rings, and our play just Ducky . All the work we put into the prom seemed worth while on the big night. The last grains of sand were beginning to fall when we began our senior year. Most of our spare time was spent working on the annual, speech, and the Senior Play. With the final grains of sand having fallen we received our diplomas. Our group hour-glass was then completed and we were each ready to watch the grains of sand in our individual ones. lass Will Karen Braunschweig wills her level headed ways to joyce Erickson. Mary Dell Ebersole wills her majorette position to Virgil Cope. Don Grow wills his ability to stay out of school to Darlene Clauson. Gary Walton wills his ability to give a whisker rub to Steve Anderson. janet Nation wills Gaylon to no one because she wants to keep him herself. Ronnie Howard wills his slim waist line to joe Rydstrom. jerry Mowry wills his ability to eat 20 sandwiches and not get fat to Alice Peterson. Patricia Rydstrom wills her Albert City boys to Karen johnson. Cliff Hoover wills his ability to go duck hunting during school, without getting caught, to Kirk. jo Ann Neary wills her size to Gary Rosene. Paul Fullenworth wills his cowboy belt to Denny Olson. Charles Bjork wills his season ticket to jim Wolf. Mary Barber wills her ability to get and keep one boy to Pat Tjebben. Dennis Arndt wills his hair to Mr. Trafton. Edith Anderson wills her ability to have a new boy-friend every week to Sharon Bjorklund. janet Tanner wills her size 4 1X2 shoes to Connie Rassler. Keith Wilson wills his Mercury to no one because it isn't worth willing. jim Weishaar wills his knowledge of the farm and a book on How to Raise Cattle to Mr. Knott.
